Classroom Enrollment Rises to 28
Friday, September 10, 2010 at 6:15PM School began the week of August 30 for students in the IEC apprenticeship program, but our instructors committed to helping students who wanted to be enrolled make up the required classroom and we now have 28 students. This is up from 24 in early September.
Though the economy is restricting the number of apprentices in the IEC program, the Apprenticeship Committee and Board of Directors is committed to providing a relevant and high-quality education to the students. This year's teachers will be striving to add an element of using the code (part of our Journeyman Prep Curriculum developed by Instructor Bryan Atkins) into all four years of education, as well as putting together a real-life lab experience in the spring for all students.
New since our last update is the decision of the apprenticeship committee to pursue adding a green energy unit to our program that will also be available to contractor members.
